Who are you anyway?
Jon Black and Andres Zea host the largest podcast that we’re aware of that’s focused exclusively on the Thorngate neighborhood and the surrounding environs of Forsyth County. Disclaimer: We make no guarantees on the accuracy of this statement. Several neighborhood children run Youtube channels with larger follower counts, but near as we can tell, none of them have a podcast or their own cars. Here you can see our deep affection for each other.
“But why should I care about the opinions of these two uncomfortably close friends?” you may be asking. Because, again, there are no other podcasts about Forsyth County. To be fair, there is a podcast that the local elementary school puts on, but it’s terrible. We’re committed to covering the local stories that matter most to you - like which restaurants got failing health scores so egregious that they should be forced to move to a town that’ll put up with that sort of shit - like Kennesaw or Gainesville.
Your Hosts
Jon Black and Andres Zea are two relatively long term Forsyth County residents. We’ve been to Good Old Days. We remember when it was called Deckers (or at least Jon does). We’ve gotten to second base at Movies 400 (not with each other). In short, we were here before out of towners ruined it all.
-
Jon has been a Forsyth county resident for 30 years. He’s still not sure if that qualifies as being a local. You can tell he’s in charge due to his picture being slightly higher than Andres.
-
Andres is a Colombian national and allegedly a naturalized US citizen. Here he is laughing. Perhaps because Jon said something funny. Lord knows somebody has to.
Listen up.
Don’t believe us? Listen to an episode. It is - quite literally - about our neighborhood and Forsyth county. Want to hear about an old man attacking a surveyor and fleeing to Mathis Airport Road? It’s in there. Want to hear about a local boy scout who claims to have earned every merit badge yet somehow is not an Eagle Scout? You better believe we talk about that. Want to know which of your favorite Chinese takeout restaurants have insect exoskeletons in their kitchen? I didn’t, but I do now, so you should as well.
Note, you can probably skip the earlier episodes because we had no idea what we we’re doing (but we were still better than the Kelly Mill Colts Podcast).
Advertising on the Wrong Way Roundabouts
So you’re interested in advertising your small business on the global phenomenon that is the Wrong Way Roundabouts Podcast?
….
Are you sure? Seriously? Have you listened to the podcast? And you still think it’s a good idea? Ok… it’s your dollar.
We’ve got two fantastic options for you to grow your customer base by getting your business in front of the billions of people who are technically capable of listening to the show. (Note, we also sell a bespoke package where we avoid mentioning your shitty business at all because it sucks - this is known as the “Roosters Provision.”)
Option 1 – The Host Read
For the host read agreement, Jon and Andres will (mostly) read what you tell us to. All ads will be delivered in the natural tone and style of the Wrong Way Roundabouts podcast. Sponsor provided talking points or scripts are welcome, but the hosts reserve the right to improvise and personalize the ad to align with the podcast’s voice and tone. Scripts and/or talking points may or may not be read verbatim (I can tell you they probably will not be read verbatim.) The hosts will communicate the spirit of the message in addition to mandatory content such as discounts, pricing, social media handles/URLs/contact information.
Option 2 – The Guest Spot
For the Guest Spot you can come on the show and tell people about your business yourself. You will receive a minimum 10 minute interview spot where Jon and Andres will incorporate you and your business into the show. As in the host read, talking points are welcome, and we will share a non-exhaustive list of questions with the designated interviewee ahead of time so you can rigidly practice appearing natural and charismatic. Mandatory content will be covered in the interview, but we’re winging everything else.
